It’s easy to put weather on your home screen once you’ve decided the widget you want to use. However, the steps may vary, depending on your launcher, but adding a weather widget shouldn't be a problem if you're familiar with adding widgets on your home screen. Return to the App Suggestions in Settings per Step 2. This time, look for the "Blocked apps" option and tap it to show a list of the apps on your device.
Many Android OEMs have their weather apps and widgets; depending on who made your Android phone, you may have plenty of options. As we said, there are two widgets you can choose from. Find an empty space on your homescreen and long-press. From the pop-up menu, select widgets and scroll all the way down to Weather. One is an elliptical circle with the current temperature and a cartoon showing the current conditions. The other is a rectangle showing the city, current temperature, temperature range, current conditions, and the temperature/conditions for the next three hours.

After you've turned on Suggested Apps the first time, you'll that the apps that were in your dock have been pushed up to the home screen, replaced by your most recently-used apps. The predictive apps are denoted with a colored outline that matches the dominant color of the app icon. It looks like an ongoing, intermittent problem that sometimes appears to fix itself, likely after OS updates or changes in settings choices. As phone issues go, it seems relatively minor — unless, that is, you live in a region like the US Midwest or South, which are both prone to severe weather, especially in the spring.
Meanwhile, some stock weather widgets may not work accurately, depending on your OEM, software skin, and region. So, ensure a stock weather widget/app works well in your area before settling for it. You don't have to rely on Google's offering if it looks less appealing to you or it's just too simple.
Use the Built-in Document Scanner on Your Google Pixel
An easy, yet classic way to see the weather on your home screen is by using Google's At a Glance widget, which again doubles as a widget for showing dates and upcoming events. At a Glance widget is built into the Google app, making it available on all Android phones. Also, note that this only works with the Pixel Launcher, which is the default home screen app on Pixel devices anyway.
The issue is mostly faced by Google Pixel users, but it has affected other brand’s Android devices too. As of now, there is no known reason why this happens, but it seems like a minor software bug that has affected thousands of Android devices. Finally, open the Substratum Lite app again (labeled "lite" in your app drawer) and switch to the Manager tab. Here, tick the box next to "Pixel Launcher," then tap the "1 Selected" button and choose "Enable selected." Go ahead and restart your phone one last time. Now, open Substratum Lite (it will be called simply "lite" in your app drawer) and tap "Pixel Launcher Editor" on the main Themes tab.

Different weather apps offer extra functionality and various widget designs, meaning you may need to try many of them till you find your favorite. On the home screen, long-press the app you want to keep in the dock. This will convert the suggested app into a standard app shortcut. To undo this action, you'll need to hold and drag the app icon out of the dock to bring back an App Suggestions slot. Basically, all you need is to get a reliable weather app, then add its widget on your phone. Long-press on the widget you choose and find an open spot on your homescreen where you want it to go. Finally, tap Add to the home screen to finish the setup. Long press the widget and drag it to where you want it. So you could have four predictive dock icons and one static icon, or three and two, or any combination you wish.
Add Predictive App Shortcuts to Your Pixel's Home Screen Dock
If you don’t fancy the At a Glance widget but still want to get the Google widget app on your home screen, you'll need to add it as a shortcut. You'll see the detailed weather info whenever you open the shortcut. All you need is to check the widget picker on your phone to see the available weather widgets. If you see anyone you like, you can add it by downloading no third-party app. Getting to see the weather on your Android home screen is as simple as placing a weather widget on your favorite part of the home screen. You can do that with a native weather widget on your phone, or any weather app on the Google Play Store.
Open it whenever you need to check your weather. Besides showing the real-time weather, date, and events, At a Glance has some features exclusive to Google Pixel phones. You, however, don't have to worry if you don't have a Pixel device since all you need is the weather.
For example, if you have a Pixel phone, you can set AT A Glance widget even if you are using a third-party launcher. When you get back up, that pesky At A Glance widget will finally be gone! First, the search bar at the bottom of your home screen will change from dark gray to black if you have Android's dark theme enabled.

In the upper right corner of the menu, tap Pin . After the last one is removed, the Home screen will be removed. Google's "At A Glance" widget gives you the current weather conditions and upcoming events from your Google Calendar in a handy spot right at the top of your home screen. But on Pixel phones, this widget is permanently embedded into the launcher, so you can't just long-press it to remove it. Scroll to the left one more time to see the forecast for the next ten days including the current day. It shows you the expected weather for each day and includes a temperature range. So yeah, this is a very useful app that includes two widgets .
Essentially, if you manually place an icon in any spot on your dock, it will stay. Otherwise, if there's a spot that hasn't been manually filled, App Suggestions will fill it for you. Updating the software worked for a lot of people, but if your device is already up to date, you will have to try other solutions.
